Huge compendium in 362 pages with 364 photos--including 264 full-color plates--of American wild flowers in natural colors, arranged in back in a list by Family, with Index. Orig. published in 2 volumes by the State of New York, this is the first one-volume "Popular Edition" from 1934, albeit a later (post-1961) printing "reissued from new plates." Oversized hardcover book has soft green textured cloth-covered boards with embossed leaf to front & darker green & gilt lettering & design to spine. Condition is Near Fine: exceptionally clean & bright, pages white, binding firm & square, hinges secure. Pages are white with a whisper of tanning to edges; NO writing or highlighting or underlining; NOT ex-lib. Only flaw is bumping to lower corners. The DJ is only Fair: missing front flap & a few large chips all around, short tears. What's left is nicely protected in new mylar cover.
