Fine/very good. Jacket spine typically sunned. Sharp and tight first edition of this generous selection of correspondence of this widely influential figure (1891-1969) -- front jacket flap describes him as "The insecure college student out of the West, the young, practicing, bored attorney, the miserable doughboy, the western 'probate and real estate' lawyer and aspiring politician, the zestful academician and political theorist, the successful administrative innovator, the restless judge, and finally, the corporate lawyer...."
