Size is octavo (8vo), 9.5"/24cm h. Quarterbound in publisher's blue paper to both spine and boards, bright gilt lettering imprinted to former. Glossy color dj features uncredited image of naval battle (likely Monitor and Virginia). Plain white endpapers. Xxii pp prelim material, 514 numbered pp, pls ten unnumbered inserts with b&w images, plus six unnumbered to end. Numerous illust, 14 maps, notes, bibliography, index. Condition notes: Clean, unmarked, tight square, a fine copy. Spine ends rolled, top front corner (only) bumped. Moderate wear and a small scratch to front of dj; protected with mylar wrap. We personally inspect every book we offer.

Furrowed Brow Books was established in 2020. The bookstore's owner, Paul Purman, grew up in an old farmhouse full of books. Paul had been providing online booksales since 2008 through several popular online sales venues. In 2021 Paul was accepted as a member of the Independent Online Booksellers' Association (IOBA), and graduated from the annual Colorado Antiquarian Book Seminar (CABS-Minnesota).
