Tan stamped cloth, gilt letters, gilt decoration on front cover,tan & color illus. dust jacket,186 pp. 40 color, 770+ bw plates. Considers the artwork of Grace Carpenter Hudson (1865-1938), who was raised among the Pomo Indians of California. In addition to presenting years of research in a pleasant reading narrative, this book contains a catalogue raisonne of the artist's works, most of which are reproduced in a small bw photographs. The majority of the works are of the Pomo Tribe. Nice color plates, well-researched. Includes selections from the artist's own diaries and notebooks.
