London: Seeley and Co., 1894. First edition, 1894. Three subjects in one book: French bookbinding; Durer's engravings; early Italian book illustrating. Eight full color plates of French book bindings, high quality reproductions of Durer's work, nicely printed Italian illustrations. Maroon cloth over beveled boards, top edges gilt, various pagination. Covers rubbed at the extremities, good hinges, text block sound but no longer completely tight, some occasional foxing, most notably to endpapers, title page, frontis and tissue, some foxing to Italian plates, bookplate of Hester J. Austin on front pastedown, no other names or markings.. First Edition. Hard Cover. Good. 4to - over 9¾" - 12" tall.
