About This Item
Los Angeles: T.A.T Communications Company, 1976. Second Draft script for season 2, episode 13, "J.C. and Julie (Part 1)," the first of a two part episode of the series, which aired on January 4, 1977 on CBS.
In this episode, Julie immerses herself in a newfound Christianity and drives her mother and sister crazy.
Broadcast on CBS for nine seasons from 1975 to 1984, "One Day at a Time," created by married writing duo Whitney Blake and Allan Manings, was based on Blake's life as a single mom raising children after her divorce from her first husband. Like many sitcoms developed by Norman Lear, the show frequently tackled serious life and relationship issues. The show was remade in 2017 as a series for Netflix, with a Latino cast starring Justina Machado, Rita Moreno, and Stephen Tobolowsky.
Pink self-wrappers integral with title page, noted as Second Draft on the front wrapper, dated 11/2/76, with credits for screenwriter Joseph Bonaduce and director Herbert Kenwith. 43 leaves, with last page of text numbered 39. Mimeograph duplication, rectos only. Pages Near Fine, wrapper Near Fine, bound with two gold brads.
