London: Swan Sonnenschein, 1898. viii and 320 pages. Frontispiece portrait. A good copy in the publisher's red cloth, the spine is slihtly soiled. Sorsky 439. Gordon went to India as assistant surgeon of the Buffs and served with them in the Gwalior campaign. He was surgeon of the 10th in the Mutiny. In 1860 he was promoted Deputy Surgeon General and accompanied the expedition to China.
