Rear hinge intact but starting. Several corners worn through and several spots on back cover. Rose decorative end papers with some water lower corner of ffep. Extremely scarce volume (#7) of Crowley's Equinox Vol. III. First edition of Crowley's paraphrase of the I Ching. Published in 1971 by the Crowley group, Church of Thelema, headed by Jack Parsons and his wife, Helen Parsons Smith. Parsons was an early supporter and researcher of Jet Rocket Propulsion and Moon exploration. In fact, a crater on the moon was named for him after the initial landing and exploration. Parsons, who helped found the JPL, was mysteriously killed in a laboratory explosion in his thirties. A number of sources suspected foul play. Ships from Dinkytown in Minneapolis, Minnesota.

Bindings are "Indestructible joint binding, warranted" by Mets & Schaefle, Dubuque, IA, in 1/2 heavy handsome brown morocco. Good+ condition. Volumes have rubbing at head heel and edges. Volumes 40-55 are a different binder, with compatible brown leather bindings, the last 10 in black smooth calf, bound by J.F. Widman binder, McGregor, IA. The set belonged to J. W. Gilman, presumably of IA. His stamped by the binder at the heel of the volumes, a device used to identify ownership and encourage return of borrowed volumes.
