Stated first edition, with personalized inscription (For Margaret Lyman) signed by the author on the half-title, with another note beneath in different handwriting: Higganum, Conn., Friend of the Porters, J. S. Lyman. Illustrated throughout in black and white with some plates in duotone - black and white plus a light aqua blue. Tan pictorial cloth printed in reddish brown and deep turquoise, pictorial endpapers, 250 pages, illustrated dustjacket. The book has little wear but some foxing along the joints and a slightly darkened spine, good hinges, sound text block, some darkening of the endpapers along the hinges, no other names or markings. The mylar protected dustjacket is not priceclipped (2.00) and has some light overall rubbing, minor shelf soil to the white background, mainly on the rear panel, some very minor edge chips and one slightly larger one at the spine foot which affects three letters in the publisher's name. . Inscribed by the Author. First Edition. Hard Cover. Very Good/Good. 8vo - over 7¾" - 9¾" tall.
