First Printing, with the number (1) in parenthesis on the final page. 8vo; [6], 336pp. Publisher's crimson cloth, the spine and upper cover lettered in gilt; in the original illustrated dust jacket priced at $2.00. A Near Fine or better copy, very lightly rubbed and dust-soiled; in a just about Fine, lightly edge-worn jacket. John Lebar was the pen name of Wright's oldest son, Gilbert Munger Wright. In the Devil's Highway, they launched a scathing attack on "scientism," the belief that, in… Read More

As is the case with the majority of Haggard's works, the story draws heavily upon adventure and exotic concepts. The story, told from the point of view of the Egyptian priest Harmachis, is recounted in biblical language, being in the form of papyrus scrolls… Read More

Description:
This set of Avon True Romance had 12 novels initially. Sadly, they are out of print and not so easy to find. This is a nice set of six of those paperback books in the Teen Romance genre by six different authors. Each book is about 250-300 pages long and each follows the romance of different pairs of characters. The titles and authors are Belle and the Beau by Beverly Jenkins, Samantha and the Cowboy by Lorraine Heath, Catherine and the Pirate by Karen Hawkins, and Nicola and the Viscount by Meg Cabot, Gwyneth and the Thief by Margaret Moore, and Anna and the Duke by Kathryn Smith. Volume 1 has a tiny tear at the base of the spine and volume 4 is creased down its spine. Other than that, the books are very good, sturdy, clean, and their pages are crisp with no marks, dog ears, or tears, stains or damage.
