THIS SET IS LACKING PART 13 consisting of pages 403 to 442 and 5 plates leaving a total of 98 plates. The plates and text are in near fine condition, the book folders the folio's are housed in have some marks especially the rear board of folder 1. The work of Rudolph von Ottenfeld is considered to be the most accurate depiction of the Austrian Armies of the 18th and 19th Centuries and stands amongst the top ten of Uniform books and is without a doubt the definitive study of the Austrian Army. The text paper is water marked 1812; the plate watermark is generally in the gutter but is 1835 for the ones that can be distinguished. This copy has been recently rebound in half leather with marbled boards; spine with title label and raised banding with gilt ruled lines. New endpapers. The pages have not been trimmed, so some edges are quite rough and browned. There is a signature to the initial blank.
