The photograph shows an interesting set, but we have to mention the following imperfections: 1) all clasps gone; 2) foot and top spines partly damaged, of 1 spine leather of upper compartment gone; 3) 1 corner of 2nd volume damaged and cornerpiece missing; 4) leather of first hinge vol. 5 broken, but hinge still holding strong; 5) rubbed in places, with loss of layer of leather. - With 5 title-pages, printed in red and black, with large title-vignettes and engraved frontispiece "L. Grey endpapers. Woodcut initials. Errori Correzioni on p. [17]. Round label on front fixed endpaper for F.C. Schottin, bookbinder, Buffalo, N.Y. Faint stamps on title page from Catholic libraries. Book pocket on back fixed endpaper from the Mt. St. Alphonsus Library. No other library markings. Very scarce. In Very Good Condition: edges and spine rubbed; old repair at head of gutter on pp. 49-56 with minor loss of text; occasional foxing; otherwise, clean and tight.

Antuerpiae [Antwerp]: Apud Henri Aertssens, 1629. First Edition . Full Vellum. Fair/No Dust Jacket. 24mo. Page numbers end at 168, though pagination is at times out of order. Text, however, appears complete and sequenced appropriately. There are 25 full page steel engraved illustrations, in addition to the highly decorated, illustrated title page.. Small modern book plate on front paste down. Older inked notations on title page and rear paste down, as well as a few small marginalia. Bookworm trails affecting lower gutter and margins of about twelve leaves near rear of book. Some text is minimally affected. Later inked "Hoyer" on spine. Volume remains tight, and is otherwise clean. Illustrations are good.
