A beautiful copy, fine in a fine jacket with a couple of minor age spots on the endpapers, this copy also has the extremely rare dark green wraparound band with the Robert Graves quote ("Derek Walcott handles English with a closer understanding of its inner magic than most (if not any) of his English-born contemporaries."). This copy is signed on the front free endpaper by Walcott and dated April 99.

"These 13" was published during Faulkner's most productive and important period (1928-32), for his short story career. The stories in These 13 are arranged to present the shared themes and clarified problems, which lead Faulkner in the direction of his next novel Light in August. Stapled wrappers, front cover with original ink scarab drawing by the author mounted. One of 33 copies. A scarce publication by one of levy's unnamed presses, being Edouard Naville's translation of 'The Litany of Ra.' The large original drawing of a scarab on the cover is reflective of levy's interest in the symbol, which he used as the title of his collection 'Scarab Poems.' Though neither his name, nor that of one of his presses, appears in the text, this has all the hallmarks of levy's important mimeographed books, and appears less frequently on the market than others.
