New York and London: Harper and Brothers, 1937. Hardcover. Very Good/Good. Morgan Dennis. 12mo. 50 pages. Hardcover with black, white, and red illustrated dust jacket. The jacket has damping at the spine, paper is foxed, toned. Spine is toned. Colour illustrated endpapers. SIGNED by the author on the half title page. Text is foxed. Illustrations throughout. James S. Tippitt was born in 1885 in Memphis, Missouri and was an educator and an author of primarily children's books. In 1939 he and his wife moved to Chapel Hill, North Carolina where he was a professor of education at the University of North Carolina. He remained there until his death in 1958.
