All edges gilt. Illustrated throughout with black and white engravings by Jules Férat and Charles Barbant. A very good copy, the binding firm, the extremities with light wear, the spine a touch faded, slight cracking to the internal page hinges. There is a school prize plate on the front free endpaper, light spotting to the text block edge, a few fingermarks throughout, and without the plain tissue-guard from the frontispiece.
