A fascinating and comprehensive work on the care, species, and cultivation of magnolias, a flowering plant from the Magnoliaceae family.Written by John Guille Millais, a nineteenth and twentieth century British artist and naturalist who wrote many works on different species of plants. The first and only edition of this work. Containing ten collotype plates and twenty-four half-tone plates, many from photographs and many from the art of Raoul Millais, John Guille Millais's son. Collated and complete.  In the publisher's original blue cloth binding. Externally, sound, with shelf wear to the boards and bumping to the head and tail of the spine and extremities. Slight fading to the spine and extremities, and a ring stain to the front board. Internally, generally firmly bound. Pages are generally bright and clean. Good
